Ronnie and Shamari DeVoe Married 4 Life Walk

Ronnie and Shamari DeVoe are using their platforms as entertainers to make a positive impact in the community. Music lovers should recognize the Devoes from their successful music groups. Ronnie is one of the original members of the R&B super groups New Edition. When NE is on hiatus,  he performs with BBD and RBRM, both groups are off shots from the New Edition family tree.  As the lead singer of Blaque, Shamari’s angelic vocals are front and center on the group’s biggest hits. She performed with the multi-platinum chart topping group at Silk’s 25th anniversary celebration.  The success the DeVoes have earned in the music industry is just part of their story.  While raising the cutest set of twin boys you’ve ever seen, the couple still finds time for philanthropy and helping others realize the dream of home ownership.

During a recent appearance on Sister Circle Live Ronnie and Shamari shared their views on the importance of healthy marriages, and how healthy marriages lead to thriving communities.

The Married 4 Life Walk is the brainchild of Martez and Woodrina Layton.  Through their foundation the Laytons encourage, educate and empower married couples with the use of counseling, workshops and community progams. Married 4 Life Walk

The mission of the Married 4 Life Walk is to reinforce the principle of “Walking in Unity.” This two mile walk to Kenessaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is  designed to encourage couples to make time for one another, hold hands, walk together, and focus on each other.  All the planned activities will ensure everyone leaves the walk and couples mixer renewed, and recrommited to their spouse. It will be a fun-filled day.

• Connect and create deeper bonds between spouses – This hand-in-hand walk is a powerful reminder that we will hold on to each other and never let go.
• Share with other couples – Couples will walk together, encouraging each other to hold on through challenges.
• Stand with others who are also committed to stronger and healthier marriages.

The walk is open to all regardless of age, ethnicity, or religious affiliation. Couples’ registration is required for the event. General admission is $50 per couple.  Parking will be available on a first come first, first serve basis at Grace Community Church. What is the Married 4 Life Couples Mixer?

The Married 4 Life Couples Mixer an evening event. Couples are invited to join other couples after the Married 4 Life Walk, to celebrate love. It gives everyone a chance to have fun and relax with one another after reaffirming their commitment “to never let go of the hand they hold.” The couples mixer event will also be hosted by R&B Legend and BET Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Ronnie DeVoe, and his wife, platinum recording artist and actress Shamari DeVoe.
